Like I mentioned in a previous post, gingham is a very popular print this season. And although I mentioned that I wouldn't get over this fad, I think I've honestly reached my limit. I will like to denounce what I said before, and state that yes, I am indeed over the gingham trend. Hey, I'm a girl, I'm allowed to change my mind ;). What attracted me to this top though were the bell sleeves and not the actual print. Something about their structure just pulled me in - they're really bold and not like anything I already own, so I decided to give the top a try, and I'm very glad I did.
CURRENTLY: Thinking about the fact that I haven't seen Snow White in a while and wondering why it's not on Netflix.
“You can wear black at any time. You can wear it at any age. You may wear it for almost any occasion; a ‘little black frock’ is essential to a woman’s wardrobe.” – Christian Dior
“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.” – Coco Chanel
A few of my favorite quotes about the color black. No doubt that this is my favorite color as I am always drawn to black pieces; it run my closet.
Loving this Banana Republic Black and White Gingham/Checkered print dress so much! I find it really flattering, and slimming, and I love the high slit in the front. Felt very comfortable in it, and I had a nice time walking around the city.
CURRENTLY: Munching on my Pumpkin Bread and White Mocha from Starbucks!
It's funny that mules are rapidly becoming a must have fashion trend now, but I remember growing up my mom and aunts wore these nonstop. I'm pretty sure my sisters and I looked at them and thought "what in the world are they wearing??". I have been on the hunt (and still am) for the perfect pair of mules, but when I saw these on the Asos website, I knew I had to get them. The flowery print immediately took me back to something my mom wore once. I paired mine with another hot trend this year: fringe boyfriend jeans.
I wonder which fashion trend we're obsessed with now would still be cool in 5 or 10 years...
I don't think I've appreciated this leather jacket as much as I should have. Definitely haven't worn it on the blog that much. Since it's summer and no longer fall, my outfit choices don't call for me to add a leather jacket, but when I put on this backless black top, it felt like something was missing, and I knew I needed to top it off with the jacket to complete the look. Thankfully for most of the day I was in an air conditioned environment, so the jacket was actually pretty functional and not just for show, as most fashion pieces tend to be. My sandals are the Steve Madden Ireene dupes from target for a much cheaper price. I added my pink tory burch purse and was good to go!
I have always been insecure when it came to showing my arms.... for some reason I always thought they were slightly bigger than I would have preferred them to be. When I tried on this dress I really loved it but then I had the thought: are you ready to bare your arms?? I quickly dropped the dress and left the store. But of course this little red dress was haunting me to the point that I had to go back and purchase it.
Do you ever feel that way, let your insecurities keep you from purchasing or wearing certain items? I defeated that insecurity, and this dress gave me the confidence to bare all!!
Don't let your insecurities keep you from looking fab!
Hey guys! So I recently turned 25, and celebrated with my family taking me out to brunch. When I saw this floral halter dress in express, I immediately gravitated towards it because of the fun and flirty look to it. Hence the title of the post: Flirty 25! I reeallly love this dress! It's so cute, fun, and flirty! As you can tell by the pictures, I really enjoyed swinging in this dress because of the layers, they gave it sort of a flapper feel to it and I was loving every moment of it!
Does anyone else have a piece of clothing that whenever they put it on they feel like a totally different person? Well that's this leather jacket for me. Whenever I put it on, I feel the need...the need for speed!!! (Tom Cruise/ Top gun fans will appreciate this one). I get in totally biker chic mode and all I'm missing is a cool helmet and a rough looking motorcycle. This has to be one of my favorite pieces, it's universal and goes 99% with everything.
PS: by now we should all know that my hand gets really comfortable and stays in one position 😏😏
Well hello there arms!!!
Summer is finally here and I thought I'd never say this but boy am I glad. I am a winter baby (was actually born in April but I love the cold and everything about it) but for some reason I am glad to finally ditch the coats and boots for sandals, ripped jeans and sun dresses.
Are you excited for summer?
Ok. The weather in NYC right now is so ridiculous. It's literally burning hot as I type this. We've been going through a heat wave for a couple of days now, and even looking at the pictures of me wearing a BLACK dress is making me hot. But, don't let the dark color fool you. This dress was soo breezy. The cold shoulders and the flowers really added a flirty vibe to the outfit. The embroidered flowers are also a really nice touch to this black dress. Paired it with my trusty Kenneth Cole sandals and LV speedy and was good to go!
It's different.....it's an adjustment.....It's Pretty Edgy
Well...We're baack! We're so sorry for the long break. Let's just dive right in. Over the break I picked up a new toy ;) My Louis Vuitton speedy 30. It's a very functional bag and holds a ton! If you're looking to start a Louis Vuitton collection, or looking to buy your first designer bag, I would suggest the speedy as a great starter bag. It's one of their cheaper bags, and it's a classic, which I don't see running out of style anytime soon! Little fun fact: Audrey Hepburn was actually the catalyst of the LV Speedy's popularity. She loved the Keepall bag (the much bigger, dufffel version) but wanted a smaller size that was easier to carry - to which the speedy was born!
The weather was a little bit hot, but also chilly, so I wore this cute one shoulder flounce top, and kept the look casual with jeans and my trusty Soludos wedges. Also occasionally wore my Zara leather jacket around my shoulders when it got chilly.
This lovely lace blouse was another great find from the Zara sale! I love it so much because its so girly and classy, even though it has a gothic-victorian look to it. I paired it with this high waisted mini skirt I picked up from H&M like 4 years ago for only $5! Yup, you read that right, $5! There was some crazy online sale then, and I put that in my bag not even knowing how it would fit me. I've worn it only a handful of times since I got it, and each time I'm so happy I made the decision to get it. Finishing off the look is my favorite pair of shoes, EVER! My Stuart Weitzman lowlands! OK, so the story about how i got these shoes: they were a surprise Christmas gift from the other half of fashionableduo, Buife! I was eyeing these boots for a while, and jokingly hinted at them when asked what I wanted for my secret santa gift. I was ABSOLUTELY NOT expecting to get them, and was going to save up to buy them after Christmas (after bouncing back from all the holiday shopping), but on Christmas day when we opened gifts, I was in for a huge surprise! I was so happy, and in shock that I actually cried, and I never cry! I'm so grateful for them, and I will wear them everyday if I could. They're definitely going to be my winter and fall staple.
Hey!! It feels so good to be back. As Princess mentioned in our previous post, we took a little break, but we are back in full force. We are so excited for what the future holds for fashionable duo and are glad that you have embarked on this crazy but exciting journey with us.
Funny story about this dress. I had originally bought it full price at Zara and totally fell in love with it. I decided to wash and dry it not realizing that it is a hand wash only type of dress. I was absolutely upset when I brought it out of the dryer and it looked like it belonged to a 10 year old. You can imagine the horror on my face. However, I came to terms with the fact that I had lost one of my favorite dresses. One glorious day I walked into Zara, because they were, and still are having an amazing sale. I walked over to the dress section, and what did I see?? My dress at a much discounted price! I didn't think twice about it, I grabbed the dress as fast as I could with a big smile on my face and walked right to the register. I was soo happy that I got a second chance with a dress I loved.

We're back! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and a Happy start to their New Year! It has honestly been so hard to take pictures in the winter. Sometimes it's just so cold that we don't feel like taking off our coats while outside. Needless to say, a lot of cute outfits have gone to waste ;) lol. But I'm so happy to be back. I missed blogging! Now, the outfit: Zara had a really great sale so I picked up a few things. This checkered dress was too short for me, but I decided to get it anyway, I knew that I would be able to wear it with leggings and my new Over the Knee Boots from Stuart Weitzman (OBSESSSSSSEEEDDDDD!!!!!!). I promise to go into more details on another post about the boots, and how I got them. But for now, enjoy the pics below :) Till next time!
