I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather, I know I am. For this lovely day out in the city I opted for one of my favorite Banana Republic dresses. Its very appropriate for the weather and its so comfortable. I wanted these sock booties for the longest time but didn't have the courage to spend over 100 bucks on them. I was so relieved when I saw these for half the price, I knew it had to be mine. They are so sophisticated and make any outfit look fab. I am in love.
Goodbye summer! Hello fall 2016! I literally live for fall, my style today was a mix of summer and fall. The weather was perfect, it wasn't too hot nor cold. It was just perfect. I paired my favorite hollister boyfriend jeans with a forever21 sleeveless trench coat. These studded ankle boots are everything. I scored a great deal with them at zara about 2 years ago and our love relationship is still going strong. I am so excited for the fall season, everything is better in the fall.
Fall happens to be my favorite season hands down. The weather, fashion, leaves, colors, boots, scarves and the list goes on and on. Fall nail polish ahhh! I love the look of a dark, rusty and muted color on my nails. I like to read on other blogs and watch videos just to see what other people are wearing during the different seasons. There is no defined rule as to what color to wear on your nails; you could wear bright sunny yellow or sky blue in the middle of winter its all up to you. However I like to change my colors as the seasons change so here are some of the colors I will be wearing this fall.
I miss LA and cant wait to go back! This was Easter Sunday last year, and I thought this olive green caftan that i got from Forever21 would be perfect to pair with jeans and Zara strappy heels that I borrowed from Buife. This was such a fun day! After church, we went to a seafood restaurant where i pigged out on some yummy crab legs while wearing a bib (felt like a kid). After that we paid a visit to the LACMA, which is really popular for the lamps outside the museum, I couldn't resist taking a pic ;)
Our hotel in Miami was opposite a beautiful lake and on the lake were so many beautiful boats! I tried to take some pics in front of the boats but that didn't work :/, so I ended up just taking pics on the dock. This was such a fun night in Miami! After seeing so many sights, and eating amazing Cuban food, we went to the rooftop pool to relax and unwind.
Taxi. Not much more to say. I put this outfit on and I just felt like I looked like a New York City cab, and I burst out laughing. I like the outfit, and thought it looked cute, but I thought it would be a really cool idea to take a couple pics in the midst of some cabs. I originally envisioned me standing in a sea of cabs zooming by, but then I was brought back to reality, and knowing how NYC cab drivers drive, I decided to scope out some parked cabs in front of a hotel lol. We went to the first hotel but all the cabs were gone! I didn't let that stop me though, Buife and I were on a mission! So we kept looking and saw some cabs dropping off and picking up passengers in front of another hotel and decided to try it. Everything was happening so fast, and I kept trying to get shots with cabs before they moved! Let's just say, I almost got hit a couple times, but, no biggie ;). (Scroll to the last pic to see when I realized I actually valued my life). I literally had to chase down cabs before I could get a couple shots. At the end of it all, I had so much fun and I think (most) of the pics turned out great!
I'm such a girly girl, pink is one of my absolute favorite colors, if not my favorite color, so it should be no surprise that I gravitated towards this baby pink jumpsuit when I saw it. I knew I had to bring it with me to Miami. Miami was so much fun, and our hotel had a little rooftop pool/bar we decided to check out. There was this life sized chess board there and I thought it would be great to take a picture with it! This hotel rooftop was the perfect spot to photograph this outfit. It was cool, and had the perfect breeze, with a beautiful view of the ocean.
When shopping, or picking out an outfit for the day, my first thought is comfort, then of cause stylish. The moment I laid eyes on this denim shift dress at Zara, I knew I had to get it. It is super comfortable and stylish and I have dressed it both up and down, but it always depends on how i feel that day. Today i decided to pair it with my favorite platform sandals and my Louis Vuitton neverfull bag. You honestly can't go wrong in a denim shift dress.
Definitely forgot to do a red, white and blue shoot for fourth of July, so I decided to do one the weekend after, because it's never too late ;). With the perfect chambray high-waisted pants that were a steal from Banana Republic (Yay sales!) as my base, I knew I wanted a simple white tank on the top (this one has a little flare), and a red bag. Very Simple, Effortless, and Stylish ;)
Fashionable duo was out in South Beach, Miami for a mini vacay and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We spent a good amount of time on both land and sea, not really sure which i like better lol. Went for a walk on this dock (in flats) then decided to get my heels and have a little photo shoot. This was just across the street from our hotel, but you really don't have to go far because the beautiful palm trees made the whole area look like paradise. I really love this short suit because it has a little sugar and spice element to it, and of cause I had to pair it up with a simple crop top and my favorite Zara studded heels.
There is no denying that I am a lover of all things nail
polish. I love the brights, darks, glitters, neons, shimmers and all. With the
new season approaching, I have decided to share what nail polishes I will be
wearing this summer. I tried to stick to 10 polishes, but let’s face it, that’s a
hard job and I wasn’t willing to try. I stuck to 14 polishes but I will be
wearing a lot more than that this summer. I decided to put them in groups of colors, because it just kinda made sense and who wants to read the same thing over and over.
I should talk about the choker necklace, which I love, but my favorite thing out of this whole outfit is my Quay (pronounced Key) Australia "My Girl" sunglasses. They are so cool! I got them a while ago, and they are most likely sold out now. I just love the bug-eyed shape they have, and the super cool blue tinted mirrored lens. Ok, now back to the choker. I actually borrowed it from Buife, and since it's a little much, I decided to wear a simple black dress from Zara, a beige cardigan, and topped it off with my Kenneth Cole sandals.
White is a color that I rarely wear, but when the occasion called for it (an all white baby shower), I had to pull out the only white clothing item I had in my closet. I love not only the simplicity of the dress, but the lovely lace sleeves. The green pumps really put the outfit together, I had fun walking in them on the streets on NY.
I love this denim dress. It was such a great find from Forever21, and the second I laid my eyes on it, I knew I had to have it. It reminded me so much of the 60's/Mod look, so this was a very fun shoot, as I decided to to break out into some ~groovy~ moves! I paired it with my really cute Kenneth Cole Clog/Block-Heel studded sandals that are really on trend right now for the summer. I wore tights because it was cold (bipolar New York weather) but it made the outfit look even more 60's.
PS: I don't know if its a fashion rule to not wear tights with sandals, but I was happy to break that rule!
I've wanted to wear this dress from the moment I bought it a couple of months ago, but mother nature didn't get the memo. It's been raining cats and dogs here in New York for the past couple of weeks. So the moment I saw the sun come out, I knew it was time to bring the dress out again. I'm so ready for summer, over the coats, scarfs, and umbrellas. I'm ready for sun dresses, sandals and shorts.
These platform sandals are a steal from forever 21. Don't let the height fool you, the are soo comfortable. I'm in love!!!!
Ahhh!!! I love these espadrilles so much! They are the perfect spring/summer shoes and I cant wait to continue to rock them this summer. Once I saw them, I knew I had to get them, plus, they give me a little extra height which I always love ;)! When you look good, you feel good, and I was feeling great in these wedge espadrilles! These shoes also come in a lovely coral, blush, and black and can be found here!
A little fun fact about the day I wore these shoes: my
sisters and I were coming back home from a concert in Manhattan, and were LITERALLY 58 seconds from missing our train. We got out
the connecting train at Penn station and made a mad dash to the track which at
the time, seemed like the farthest track away. I ran like a professional athlete in these espadrilles (Rio 2016 anyone?) and was so
surprised we were able to make it with only a couple seconds to spare. So, not
only do these shoes look good, when the time presents itself, they can also
double as trusty running shoes ;)
Turning 28..... for some reason that number 28 scared me a bit. It is something I have thought about for weeks. 28 means so many things, but most of all, it means that I am two years closer to 30. Have I achieved everything I want to achieve or everything society says that I should have achieved at the age of 28? I approached the day with caution and tried not to over think it.
April 22nd came and immediately I was overwhelmed with love, and not a worry in the world. As I got on the train to the city and looked at everyone around me, I quickly realized that I'm the only one that can put an age bracket on what I need to achieve in life. Whether I'm turning 30 or 40, it doesn't matter. I am never too old or young to achieve whatever my heart desires.
Yup, I took my braids out :) As the cold FINALLY comes to a close, I decided to pull out my fur vest. This is most likely the last time I would be wearing it for a while. Since the fur is so dramatic, I deiced to wear something simple underneath it. Black is clearly one of my favorite colors, and I tend to navigate towards it when looking for something to wear as a base for a statement piece. Luckily this black Zara dress was hanging in my closet, ready to be worn! My red bag and red lipstick also made a nice addition. Lastly, I wanted to be comfortable on my feet so I wore my go-to coach flats.
I hope everyone's day is as bright as this banana republic shift dress. I decided to pair it with a bold statement necklace that was gifted to me by a dear friend. Spring is finally getting to New York, so I'm excited to pull more bright colors from my closet.
A "black and white affair" is what I think of anytime I look at this skirt. I'm not really sure what kind of print it is, but the prints remind me of some fancy/ornate black chandelier. I got this lovely midi pencil skirt from Zara a while back, and decided to wear it with a plain white v-neck sweater, some tights and my favorite black pumps.
I'm not really into the glitters and glam, but there is something about this sweater that I was drawn to. I paired the top with my favorite boyfriend jeans (expect to see a lot of it on the blog) and black studded clog sandals that I absolutely love. Don't be fooled by the sun, it was 20 degrees in New York. Oh Spring Where Art Thou!!!
This past Sunday was Easter, so I wore this beautiful peach peplum dress. Peach is such a nice pastel color, and one of my spring faves. The peplum style was a huge trend a couple of years ago, but it hasn't gone out of style. I think that's because it has a way of adding a nice figure to the person wearing it. The trumpet style of the top half has gives the illusion of a smaller waist. An added bonus: you don't have to worry if you eat too much food ;)
Happy Easter Sunday!!! Boyfriend jeans are my favorite to wear, they have a way of making an outfit look uptown chic. I chose to dress the jeans up with this asymmetrical sweater which by the way, is pretty comfortable. I love the pop of color that these green pumps give the outfit, it brings so much life and attention to it.
I was in what I'd like to call a "denim mood" so i pulled this midi
denim sleeveless dress out the closet and paired it with a simple black
top and platform ankle boots.
I really do love paring all black with beige, as you can tell from My first post. I don't know why, but there is some minimalist aspect that the pairing gives the whole outfit. This time, I chose to wear my high waited jeans, and a plain black basic v-neck. I wore my black pumps again, because heels just elevate (pun intended) an outfit from simply casual, to chic. This was a very simple outfit to put together, and I felt so comfortable.
It feels good trading in my winter jacket for this nice soft camel trench coat. It is comfortable, yet stylish and I see myself wearing it a whole lot this spring. This coat is very versatile which is why I like it a lot. It can be worn on the dressier side, or for a more casual and comfortable look.
Black is a color that runs deep in my closet. I have found that for me the best way to style black is with another black piece. This turtleneck and pleated leather skirt go so well together and i decided to bring a statement to this outfit by adding an animal print belt and tan pumps.
Nothing like taking a nice stroll in the city when the weather's perfect! Not too hot, not too cold. (I kinda feel like Goldilocks! LOL) My red Tory Burch buckle tote added a nice pop of color to this outfit. Red is such a nice color: whether it's bags, shoes, or lips, it tends to bring a level of class to whoever is wearing that certain red accessory. Also, jeans and heels is a new favorite combo of mine, being 5'11, I'm slowly getting used to wearing heels more!
How Cute is this fluffy sweater? It feels just as cozy as it looks. I found out in 7th grade during art class that pink and grey go very well together, when I created and painted a beautiful paper mâché mask. Ever since then, whenever the opportunity arises to pair soft pink with grey in my outfit, I take it.
As the weather approaches Spring, I found it only fitting to bring out my red purse to add a pop of color to this look. Even though the jewel embellishments on the green sweater makes it stand out, the bag takes this outfit to a whole other level.
This striped dress is one of my faves in my closet. It's so versatile as it can easily be styled in many ways. Expect to see a lot more of it on the blog. Chucks are my favorite sneakers to wear, ever. Thought they made a very casual-cute addition to the outfit, and I finished the look off with a jean jacket. This is definitely not a winter outfit, but if you're craving the sun like me, you make it work!
Leather.
What more can I say? Leather has a way of making any outfit chic in an
instant. This leather skirt is a favorite of mine because whenever I
wear it, it gives me confidence in my style. For example, I could wear
this leather skirt with a plain white T and still look fashionable.
Because of the weather, I added my black fluffy cardigan, which gave the
outfit a cozy-chic look. I think one of the most important clothing
items every girl needs in her closet is a leather skirt.
Who says you can't look cute in the rain?! For me, a pop of color is important. I've found that when picking out rain boots, I always go for a fun and bright color; after all, rainy days can be
quite gloomy, that we need something to brighten up our day! A nice
colorful rain boot will do just that! That's why I love hunters so much,
they come in so many bright and fun colors! When picking out rain boots, please stay away from the
blacks and greys and go for the reds, greens, pinks, and yellows!
Anything animal print is a quintessential statement piece that is needed in everyone's closet. Done the right way, an animal print item can take an outfit from drab, to fab. When I saw these boots at H&M, I knew they would be a perfect closet staple, and I just had to get them. I decided to pair them with this simple, yet classy Banana Republic shift dress.
I got my hair braided! ;) Yesterday, I went for a very relaxed look. We got a nice break from the cold winter, with beautiful spring-like weather, which inspired me to go for a comfortable, casual and breezy look. I paired my knotted t-shirt with flare jeans and Tory Burch flats, along with my Louis Neverfull, which is always my grab-and-go bag, because everything fits in it!
I love this short suede skirt! I've had it for quite a while now, and today, I decided to pair it up with a turtleneck and some platform ankle boots. My black tights pulled this whole look together, which was perfect because the weather today, although nicer than the last few days, was still a bit chilly.
It was freezing cold when I took these pics! Part of why my eyes aren't fully open in some of them. LOL. But I had a great time braving the cold. I paired my Zara long line top with a long sleeved sweater to create a classy, yet warm outfit. My new favorite boots for fall/winter, my black booties made an appearance again! It was a fun day, because later that night, my sisters, mom, niece and I went to see Aladdin on Broadway! It was such a great show, with an amazingly talented cast, and I had a really nice time!
One look I'm loving is the monochromatic look. Monochromatic outfits tend to have a
completed and polished look to them. Today, I decided to go with the color grey.
It kind of went along with the chilly bipolar winter we're having here
in NY.
Yay! The first official blog post! So excited! It's been a long time coming. LOL. I've made about 7 blogs in the past and have never been able to finish them. Last night, Buife and I spontaneously decided to create a joint fashion blog. Because, why not? We love getting dressed up, and we LOVE fashion. This is a way to document our fashionable adventures ;). Again, thanks for stopping by, and I can't wait to see what this new chapter brings!
